June - Week 2
Our letters of focus this week were L, K and J and we practiced reading, writing and rhyming sight words little, love, look, like, and make (this last one because of the K in the middle). In Math we worked with 2D and 3D shapes, made patterns, counted, and printed numerals. We did lots of wondering, reading, discussing and researching as we noticed insects, leaves, caterpillars and tadpoles growing and changing. Our Water Day was lots of fun. We had enough sun and activity by the time 2nd Nutrition Break arrived, so instead of our usual Outdoor Exploration that day, we watched Magic School Bus Takes a Dive, where we learned about the interdependent relationships of creatures living in a coral reef. Friday a parent brought in a pet gecko for us to see, touch, and learn about. Next week we look forward to our trip to the Peterborough Zoo.
